The Miracle Theater was built in 1947 with its sumptuous Art Deco lobby and bold marquee. The City of Coral Gables purchased the historic movie house in 1995 and the restored theater became a performing arts center and home to Actors' Playhouse with its 600-seat mainstage auditorium. In 1998, a 300-seat second stage was completed. Since moving into its new home, the Actors' Playhouse has emerged as one of Florida's eight major theatrical institutions.

GablesStage at the Biltmore Hotel is a very popular, award-winning company presenting consistently high quality seasonal programs. Formerly known as the Florida Shakespeare Theatre, they have been at the forefront of South Florida's cultural renaissance since 1979.

New Theatre, near the Village of Merrick Park, presents an eclectic mix of classic and contemporary plays in an intimate atmosphere, attracting a wide mix of mature theater fans and students.

Jerry Herman Ring Theatre at University of Miami is the 311-seat home of the university's Department of Theatre Arts, where students stage four to six productions a year. The University of Miami has a lively theater department with a program that's often as ambitious as - if not more so than - those by its professional counterparts. Broadway legend Jerry Herman is the drama school's most successful alumnus.
